Exam... Exam... Exam...

Exam mode

Every time when THE EXAM is coming… Automatically there’ll be a massive change in our daily habits… There’s no exception in me…

When exam comes my bed sheet is always tegang…

Kononnye I want to avoid from sleeping lah… But the bed is still there… When my eye lids are heavy, I just slump my body on it…

When exam comes my packs of Milo are left untouched… Suddenly Nescafe becomes my

favourite

I’m highly stimulated by it… A sip can give me insomnia… Hahaha

When exam comes, I abandon my MP3

Because when I listen to it I’ll start singing and memorizing new lyrics… In which I do best…

When exam comes my desk becomes my best friend.

It is usually clean and neat… When exam comes…

then I’ll realize that actually there are a lot of papers to be read… I’ll pile them all on my desk… I’m quite consistent in studying but my pace is quite slow… But it’ll automatically accelerate when exam is just around the corner

When exam comes all my story books and magazine are also left untouched

There are always books on my bed… But now they are back at where they belong..

the book shelf…

When exam comes, suddenly this face of mine is a familiar face in the photocopy shop

Mane tak nye… Br la tegedik2 g copy the notes yg xde…

When exam comes.. I hibernate more than usual…

There’s a linear relationship between study and sleep…

A friend of mine said “ko kuat tido pon score gak”

Well… I’m honestly not a genius who sleep and score.

I studied around 3 topics and then sleep.. wake up to study and then sleep….I sleep right after I study.. It was just a coincidence that my friends only saw me sleeping… I was actually resting after my hard work!!!!

But some things will never change during exam…

My love for KUROSAKI ICHIGO…..

If there’s a new episode released, there’s no way that I’ll postponed watching it… Only 20 minutes ma…

My love to VOLLEYBALL

I’ll keep on training… Exercise makes me feel fresh and ecstatic for study at night

My long chat with dearest mummy

She just has a lot to talk about and I love to hear them… Spending hours on the phone with her is never a waste of time to me… She’s why I’m here.. She’s why I’m a future pharmacist

12 am is still my sleeping time

I still sleep early when my friends are up cramming.. I’ll wake up early if there are still stuffs to cover… I never study when I’m sleepy because to me it doesn’t suit me.. It’s a waste of my time and energy. I rather sleep and recharge…

Hopefully I score better this semester… My performance is declining and I need to improve…

STUDY FOR KNOWLEDGE NOT FOR EXAM…..

Oct 24, 2008

Some insights from me about my previous post...

Well… If we only look in one angle… Those cases would only reflect the health care professionals’ incompetence and negligence. But for my part it’s more than that…

The lesson from the first case.. Always seek for a second opinion… or even a third or fourth opinion..
Having something removed from your body is a BIG DEAL.. Your body will totally change.. You’ll experience changes that might be difficult to adapt to.. Don’t hesitate to do so… A single recommendation from a single doctor might not be the best. Other doctors may have other better solutions.

Like my lecturer said “IT’S YOUR BODY, DON’T SIMPLY GIVE IT TO YOUR DOCTOR FOR HIM TO SLAUGHTER. HE MIGHT BE WRONG”

My friend said “x rugi pape pon if you seek another opinion”

2ndly… We cannot simply blame the doctor if he misdiagnosed like in case two.. It is not easy to make diagnosis… The family might have not mentioned anything that is important to indicate that this boy is having fractured ribs.. so make sure to mention EVERYTHING that seems to be different after any accident etc. If the doctors or nurses still bemalas malas.. Keep on urging.. If they ignore you, go to another hospital like what I did when I had my femur fractured. The 1st hospital was so lazy and annoying.. They confirmed to me that a screw will be embedded. Luckily in PPUM, after thorough screening they found that the femur was stable and there’s no need to drill into my bone HAIYA!

In case 3… It was somewhat mysterious.. I just think it was his time to go.. According to my friend, everything seems to be normal that day.. The machine suddenly malfunctioned for a few minutes and then went back to normal…

Sometimes things are meant to be and we can’t escape from it no matter how much we try…

I really respect my friend’s decision to go to her doctor and discuss on what she’d found out. She did not reacted aggressively by simply filing a sue… We on the other hand advised her to at least ask the doctor to give her free PTH to compensate on the wrong medication that the doctor had given for a year after the surgery.

When you are really sure that the mishap is due to human error, there’s nothing wrong to stand up for your rights. Just make sure it is not to the extent of revenge or retaliation for your loss. May your effort to protect your rights benefit others too…

Death is definite… It will happen… When it happens, it means that it’s the time that Allah has decided for that person…

Something to think about...

Case 1..

A friend of mine was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. She was sent for surgery almost immediately after the doctors discovered it. During surgery, the surgeon ‘grossly’ (dgn mata kasar) saw that the parathyroid glands were also infested with carcinomas. He decided to remove all four parathyroids upon seeing this… After the surgery, my friend was given Calcium and also vitamin D since the parathyroid function is to regulate calcium level in our blood.

During a pathology class regarding thyroid and parathyroid disease, our respected lecturer emphasize that after the removal of parathyroid gland, one must be prescribed with a parathyroid hormone replacement therapy. Unfortunately, my dear friend is currently NOT receiving this treatment at all. When she told our lecturer about her only taking Calcium, he was terribly surprised.

Logically, when parathyroid is removed nothing will control the Calcium level. In my friend’s case, by giving Calcium she is basically safe from hypocalcaemia (low Calcium in blood) but what about if there is high calcium in blood??? How can her body manage this without parathyroid hormone? So my lecturer advised her to go back to her doctor and mention about this.

One more thing, my lecturer was surprised to know that the surgeon decided to remove all the parathyroid glands upon ‘grossly’ seeing carcinoma where as actually one only confirm that by pathological analysis.. She was again asked to inquire this.

Case 2…

A boy fell from his bike… He went to the doctor and the doctor confirmed that he was fine… He continued to have difficulty I breathing and finally died a few days later… Autopsy revealed that the boy had broken ribs and damaged bile duct… The family decided to take legal action on this case…

Case 3…

A man was hospitalized and was supported with a ventilation machine. Suddenly, the machine malfunctioned and the man passed away. After his death, some personnel went to check the machine and they found it to be ‘TOTALLY OK’. The family members blamed the nurse in charge for the man’s death… She was accused to be negligence…

Huhu My opinion on this will be posted latter… Take time to ponder on these cases… Is there any one to blame???? Or is it merely Qada’ and Qadar???? Or do you have any idea to prevent these from happening??? Till then Lots of love from future Pharmacist….
