Doctor Oh Doctor...

15 Oct 2008… 2 pm… From the schedule it was written there that there will be seminars on Pharmacy Practice III. I was one of the students who should do the presentation but I fell asleep…

I reached the class at 2.30 pm… A fat guy was standing at the podium.. “who is this guy??” I thought. I heard his cynical tone… Ya Allah… I made a mistake coming late that evening…

There were no seminars… The class was actually on legislative stuffs in medical field… How a pharmacist can face penalties and fines. Obviously this doctor put all the blame on our shoulder when there’s error… He’s a very proud and arrogant doctor that we feel like punching him on his face… These are among his statements…

When our class rep told him it’s supposed to be seminars…
“Your kulliyah yg panggil sy to come on this date and at this time to give you lecture on this… Don’t waste my time. I have so many other better things to do than give you lecture”

Doctor oh doctor… I know your life saving job is sooooooo virtuous but kan in the hadith our Prophet said… Ilmu yg bermanfaat adalah antare amalan yg berterusan…. Giving us what you know is ibadah as well… What you said hurt us very much….. Mcm x ikhlas jeeeeeee…..

“One day there won’t be any pharmacist. Your job will be done by machines and computers”

Machine and computers, no matter how sophisticated, how fast and how efficient they function, they will never ever replace human’s expertise. They are built to give convenience and not replace man power… Not to replace our intelligence. Brain has greater capacity than a computer…

Doctor oh doctor… This statement is sooooooo invalid and this is like we, pharmacist, are insignificant in the medical field that you want to terminate us… Hello…. We are supposed to work hand in hand… Integrate our expertise for the benefit of patients… It is in the mission and vision of the Ministry of Health kan….

When my friend questioned that the blame should not be put on pharmacist alone but the terrible hand writing of the doctors should also be blamed “The doctor should also realize that they need to work on their handwriting too..” she said

“Tulisan sy lg cantek dr tulisan awk”

Doctor oh doctor…. Dh takde jwpn lg best ke?????? We were expecting for a more professional answer…

Huhu Actually this is my first time ever to encounter such an arrogant lecturer… It is a norm actually for our lecturers who are actually medical doctors to look down a little bit on pharmacy students (except for medical doctors who specialized in pharmacology and is in the kulliyah of Pharmacy) but this fat guy is the WORST EVER….

Doctor oh doctor if you by any chance come across my blog and this post… I’m terribly sorry lah… But what I said is TRUE… All of us felt very insulted during the class… If you hate us so much and very prejudice about pharmacists’ working ethics why did you agree to give lecture and “waste your time” with us????

Kwn2 yg bakal menjadi doctor… JGN JD MACAM DIA…. PLEASE…

Doctor oh doctor… Jd la mcm padi…

Makin tunduk makin berisi…..

ILMU ITU PENTING!!!!!!

“The kakak in the nuclear department said we won’t actually use what we learn so we don’t have to be worried if we don’t score….”

“Our senior said what we learn is not used at all when working…”
Huhu I don’t like the statement “we won’t use what we learn…”

It’s maybe the awful truth but it makes the knowledge that we gain sounds not useful AT ALL…. That’s why I think I would rather have a say regarding this…

Well… Firstly, WHY do we go to school???
A. Sebab mak bapak antar
B. Sebab nk jd pandai
C. Tepakse pegi… sebab org laen pegi…
D. Aku nak majukan bangse aku…
E. ETC.

The answer to this question is variable. It depends on how we are brought up, who we mingle with, how we are conditioned throughout our growing process so we cannot actually hate those who would answer A and C. Maybe they have not yet realize the importance of knowledge… But they will when they see how hard they work to get small wages compared to those knowledgable people…

But what makes it dissapointing… the statement “we won’t use what we learn…” came from educated people. Who were blessed with good IQ’s who seems not to appreciate what they have got. And guess what was the impact on my friends.

“So then, we don’t have to worry much if we don’t score”

“Kalo x bace in detail pon xpe”

“X pyh blaja detail2, x pakai pon”

The statement became an evidence to give them excuse to study less

For my part… Whatever you do, KNOWLEDGE is very important. Scoring is indeed not the main point in the university… But we must make use of our time to gain as much as we could here. I notice that not all are excellent when they enter the university… Is it because they have reached their ultimate goal which is to ENROLL INTO A UNIVERSITY?????

I guess it is this mind setting that put us backwards “X PYH TAU DETAIL, X GUNE PON”… Kalo mcm tu… baek xyah masuk U, buang duit jer… Btol x???

Malay… Malay… We must realize… We are learning not to have a post anywhere.. but to make the country, our race and our religion move forward… When this statement comes out from our mouth, it’s the same thing as saying the knowledge is not important because we are not going to use it! We don’t see the REAL IMPORTANCE OF KNOWLEDGE…

Why are the Israeli is far ahead???? Because they put their knowledge into practice la.. That’s why they can dominate everything… Why can’t we beat their weapons… Because we don’t have better knowledge to create better ones..

It’s true that pointer is no longer everything… you have to develop communication skills, working skills and etc. but don’t ever regard the knowledge you gain in the university won’t be used and xpayah bc detail2. Maybe one day you will use…

There’s one trend in the Pharmacy community… They question why are their social status not as high as the doctors??? We learn as many as they did… We know more about drugs… blah..blah… And there goes… two pharmacists made the statements “xgune pon ape yg kite blaja”… Now… Kalo kite x blaja detail2, nnt org tibe2, out of the blue, tny kite can we give sound and reliable answers…? Bile kite x leh give our professional opinion, of course people will look down at us…. Huhuhu

Knowledge is precious… In whatever field… Brape simple pon your course… Never ever underestimate what u learnt… YOU KNOW WHAT SOMEONE ELSE MiGHT NOT… AND THEY MIGHT ASK…

Maafkan bila ku tak sempurna
Cinta ini tak mungkin ku cegah
Ayat-ayat cinta bercerita,
Cintaku padamu

Bila bahagia mulai menyentuh
Seakan ku biasa hidup lebih lama
Namun harus ku tinggalkan cinta
Ketika ku bersujud

Ayat-ayat cinta.. After half a decade of negligence to Malay novel, this novel finally caught my attention. Instigated by the beautiful lyrics in rossa’s song, I felt a strong urge to explore this story myself. Finally, I got myself the paper bag version in Gramedia Medan. Guess what, this novel earned a 5 STAR from me

The language used throughout the novel is just sooooo fantastic. It was written beautifully in a graceful manner and comprehensible. I can also sense that there are some adaptations to the Arab language in the way that the author describes things especially when he touches something regarding Allah’s creation and miracles. The most prominent uniqueness is the insertion of lots of hadith, Islamic values and also explanation about Quranic verses. One thing for sure, I think this novel emphasizes moderation. It accepts the fact that no matter how devoted you are to God, one thing you can’t deny is the desire to have someone beside you as an alter ego that will accompany you throughout this life.
Now... The characters in this novel...

Fahri..

This guy is actually too good to be true but I do agree that this is how a man should be... He’s a gentleman, knowledgeable, very organize, very patient when faced with an ordeal, very devoted to Allah, a man with sturdy principles BUT A CRY BABY.. The cry baby part.. It’s not that suitable for a guy like him. I can’t stand it when he cried when he saw Noura bludgeoned by her father and when he received a letter from Nurul who confessed her feelings to him. Hehe...
My favourite part was when he defended the Americans when the Arabs confronted them and accused them with faulty and harsh words. He used a simple fact saying that the Americans are ahlul dzimmi and it’s obligatory to protect their rights and respect them when they are in a Muslim territory and the Arabs were stunned. We did learn that, right? But how many of us remember that ek??

Aisha..

She is Fahri’s wife. They met during an incident in the LRT. Well, actually she was yelled by Arab men when she gave her seat to an old lady who’s a tourist from America. She got her face veiled and happened to be SUPER BEAUTIFUL and SUPER WEALTHY! Kaching$$$ she’s a girl with a good akhlak and she’s very clear about her visions and goals. Quite secretive, showered Fahri with a lot of love and was very loyal when Fahri was alleged to have raped Noura. She’s also full of surprises.. I love her character. Even though her face is veiled, actually she’s very moderate and not judgmental. She seems to accept the differences she found in people.

The Syaikh who taught Fahri Qiraah Sab’ah

I don’t know why I like him... He seems to be rational and wise in his words and action. I like the part when he dreamt meeting one of Rasul’s companions who was famous with his beautiful Quranic recitation during his time. This syaikh explained about the connection between the dead with the world. On how a dead person could appear in a person’s dream though it is already said that “akan terputus hubungan bila sudah mati’. The answer is simple “Kun fayakun”.. When it is Allah’s will, it will actually happen.

I think that’s all for now.. I have so many things to say about this book.. But it’s much much better if you read it by yourself.. This is not merely a love story or a romantic book. It’s a reminder, a self-help book that will inspire us towards being a better person in the eye of other individuals and most importantly in the eye of ALLAH. Ciao...
